Whether it’s a strong brand, an innovative business idea or a modern product design – anyone who achieves something deserves protection. Defending such values is a task that I approach with passion and commitment. As an experienced specialist lawyer for intellectual property law, I primarily advise on the registration, enforcement and defense of trademarks. I also have extensive expertise in design law and competition law (product imitations, misleading advertising, etc.).

My daily work ranges from advising on filing strategies and conducting availability searches to opposition and cancellation proceedings before the competent offices and courts. Another focus of my work is warning letters, preliminary injunctions and infringement proceedings before the ordinary courts.

Intellectual property has always appealed to me and the protection of intellectual property is the common thread in my legal CV:

• Studied at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, specializing in business law/material goods law
• Master’s program in intellectual property law
• Doctorate on a patent law topic (The economics of the level of invention)
• Legal clerkship with stations at the Düsseldorf Regional Court (special chamber for commercial matters), the NRW Ministry of Innovation (responsible for invention protection) and the major international law firms Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Hogan Lovells (work in the areas of trademark law, design law and competition law) at the Düsseldorf and Alicante offices
• Many years of experience with the law firm Hogan Lovells (trademark law, design law, competition law) in Hamburg and Alicante
